What job is this?

Here is a little riddle, who can tell me what job I am describing? At this job you work at least 6 days a week, but usually 7, you get no days off, not even paid holidays, and rarely get a raise. In this job there are no vaccations, paid or otherwise, and if you get sick, you have to work anyways. You cannot call off work for any reason at all, unless you first "hire" another to do your job. In this job you get little to no respect, and most people treat you as if you were something we all should regret. This job is quite similair to that of a postman, yet you are treated as if you are no one. WHAT JOB IS THIS?

I'm thinking it's either a parent or the jobs of cooking or cleaning around the house but maybe this late at night my imagination is fairly limited.

LOL I don't think it was the late night. It really does sound like a parents job, but it is actually a paper carrier.

No, not a mom, it's a paper carrier. After someone else mentioned it I realized it did sound just like mom, LOL My husband and I deliver papers and today we were joking about not wanting to go to work because we didn't feel so great. Hubby said yeah, we haven't used a sick day in a very long time, I said year, 7 years, LOL No sick days off, no vaccations. Only time off we've had was when hubby's dad passed away and we had to hire and pay someone to deliver the days we were gone!

I agree with the others... I'd say a mother. But for me, it's definitely 7 days a week... no days off here! However, there are some fringe benefits that can't be beat... like hugs and kisses, and a smile that can melt your heart....

Oh yes, the fringe benefits of motherhood are so wonderful, especially the hugs and kisses! Mother is not the job though. CatherIN got the right answer.

It started off sounding like a mother. But, a mother works 7 days a week, always. Paper carrier, but why would you work on Sunday? Unless you deliver the Sunday paper.

I knew you'd get it! I did make it sound very much like a mom without even realizing I had, LOL

I'm going to have to agree with everyone else and say a mother! And today I can personally sympathize with the no sick days part..I'm sick and would have loved to call in sick, but since I never LEAVE work, I can't really call in, and there'd be no one to take care of my little munchkin :) I don't agree with the part about getting no respect though or being treated as if you're no one.

A MOTHER! I know someone canceled that out because of the 6 days a week thing but I've known mothers that do take one day a week "for themselves". You did an excellent job describing "a mother".

It does sound like a mother, but it's not. CatherIN guessed it right.

That's a good one - I would say parent, but I don't see the connection to a postman. So...I guess I have no clue. Anymore hints? Do you get a paycheck in this job?

Yes you do get paid, but not really a "paycheck". Some may get a "paycheck", but a lot get numerous checks from different people. Bet your really not sure now, huh? : )
