Ok, I really need to know if anyone saw this article, it was online (of course) and my jaw just about hit the ground when I read it! It seems a shipment of Bayer Asprin was turned away from the US Drug administration because it was tainted with HIV. (um, is this even possible?) It gets worse. Supposedly it was distributed to third world countries, (WTF????) If anyone has heard about this, letme know, better yet, if you have links, let me know!!! I think it was assocaiated press, but I am not sure, ring any bells? ok, let me know what you think!

For some reason I find it hard to believe, a lot of strange things start on the internet, so I would have to see it in a legit form before I would believe that.

I would not give it much creedence, or further thought. HIV is not infectious orally. So taking the contaminated tablets would not endanger anyone. Of course if you planned to crush and inject the asprin, then you have a problem. I can imagine traces of infected blood being present on the bulk packaging from an injured and infected dock worker. Even same on factory packaging. But nothing sinister.

You know, everything I know about HIV, I would say yes, you are right, it doesn't matter. the virus cannot use what is in aspirin as a host, however, my medical journal said thatthe virus can live in raw sewage,(9 days) and I maybe over thinking this, but just like Hep B has different strains, and TB builds a tolerance, I am not taking any chances with the Bayer Aspirin. Now, according to the article, (and I wish I could find the silly thing, because I read it once) it was turned down when it got here.(USA) they caught it. But what about other countries?

Sounds like a bunch of propaganda. It is a rumor that was probably started by the competition to scare the public and decrease Bayers sales and increase their own. That's my theory anyway. Besides, how does aspirin get infected with HIV??
