My Boxer Furbaby and her Bone

My roommate's parents adore my boxer. They spoil her rotten whenever they come to visit my roommate, and at Christmas they even send her gifts! This year they sent her two rawhide bones (rawhide rolled up in a bone shape). I don't really buy her rawhide, because my mom always said it wasn't good for dogs. But she LOVES them! She carries her bone with her from room to room, and often carries it into the back yard when she has to potty, like I might steal it or something while she's outside! When I take a shower, she likes to lay on the rug by the tub while she waits on me. Since she got the bones, she always brings it with her, and rests her little head on it :) It gets kind of slimy, so I won't let her bring it into the bed at night. I make her leave it on the floor. The FIRST thing she does when she gets up is pick it up in her mouth again :) She is so cute! Once she starts getting it really slimy/small, I throw it away so she won't choke and give her a new one. She's gone through the two she got at Christmas, and is almost finished the the two I've bought her since. I'll need to pick up two more the next time I get her some dog food! Do your boxers have any "baby" toys they love to carry around everywhere?

Thank you for sharing your story. I really enjoyed it. I thought I would share with you a tiny article I am writing up from my old highschool notes about the boxer. It is not as cute as your story though. :) - DNatureofDTrain The Boxer This breed is one of many fighting dog descendants from the high valleys of Tibet. They showed up all over Europer during the 16th and 17th centuries, and reached their perfection in Germany sometimes within the last 100 years. They carry in their bloodline the Bulldog, Terrier, Bullenbeiser mastiff. They were developed for hunting bears, and for fighting bulls. They are known to be considered good-natured, loyal, playful, tolerant, and somewhat suspicious of strangers. They are seen as a short lived dog, because they do not reach ten years of age. They are subject to Rheumatism, and should be regulary exercised. They are known to make a good watchdog, bodyguard, and are good for leading the blind, and are used in police work. Their average colors are Fawn and brindle. Fawn in various shades of light tan to stag red or mahogany. White markings may appear on the chest and on the face. Their average weight in females is 50-60 pounds and in males is 60-70 pounds. Their average heigh in females is 21-23 and a half inches and in males is 22 and half to 25 inches tall. I hope you enjoyed my little write up from old school notes. I have never had a boxer, and only seen one live one. They are really neat looking dogs in real life. The pictures and movies do not do them justice. Take care, - DNatureofDTrain
