Have you told a LIE to get out of work?

Not a BIG lie, but a small fib that can get you cleared from a work day. Well, I started a new job (just a 2nd part-time gig for some extra cash) at the mall in a clothing store. I gave them my availability when I started and it seems they failed to look at that when making THIS weeks schedule. (avail.:: mon, tues, wed. from 9am-2pm and sat. 9am-3pm) So I got a call today around 3pm, when I got to my full-time job, from my manager at the clothing store who said, "Hey girl, you were supossed to be at work today, are you available tomorrow?" Thinking of other things, I said yes I am. Then I explained to him that this passed weekend when I looked at the schedule I wasn't on for today or tomorrow. That they put me on Thursday and Saturday night, which I can't work. He explained the schedule was done by the new manager who didn't know what employees needed what days, and so on. So it was okay. So the thing is, I have family coming in this Wednesday and personally, I can not work tomorrow. I have so many things to get done in my house and grocery shopping and painting that I can NOT possible go to work at my part-time from 9am to 2pm and then to my full-time from 3pm to 11pm. I will get nothing done. So I called back around 7pm and told the OTHER manager that I was already scheduled at my full-time job to work tomorrow and didn't realize it. Told her that I should have been taken off the schedule for Thurs and Sat. (1 I requested off on Saturday and 2 I am unavailable Thursdays). So the fact that I told them I was already scheduled at my full-time, which obviously, isn't true....do you think that was wrong of me? Have you done that before at a job of yours?

Ahaha. I did that a couple of times before. There is this time when I had to go to a sale in one of the malls here in Manila. My boss askd me if I could do overtime work because he had some things the needed to be asubmitted in the morning. I told him I had a relative that arrived and that I had to pick her up at the airport! LOL

I try to go to work when I am supposed to. But if I just don't want to, I tell them that I have a headache, the flu, or a family emergency.
