Ideas for Birthday Gift

Australia

Hi there, i was wondering if you can help me for some ideas for my husbands birthday. I was going to take him to Gold Class movies to see a new one he would love to see, but its not released yet. Then he just rang me from work and wanted to have some ppl over for a bbq on the weekend so i then had to tell him what i had planned. He didnt want to see any of the other movies so i said we can have ppl over no worries. That leaves me still with no ideas for his present. There isnt anything that he needs so to speak but i also want to get him something that is for him, not for the car or the house. Do you have any ideas?

I think one of the new 80GB IPOD would be a great present.

Does he need a new mobile phone? Or, how about getting a family portrait done, to remember you all by. Does he like hang-gliding, or going for a joyride in a helicopter? It depends on the sorts of things he likes to do.

If he reads, then you can get him a book. Perhaps a CD of his favourite singer/band or even a DVD that you know he will enjoy. I know what it is like trying to buy gifts when you do not want to get something for the house or car but rather something that he really wants. I face this problem with our son more than our husband, because I know that for the present time our son is only home for short stints before he wanders off again somewhere in the world. So when he is home, I will get him a couple of books and maybe a CD or DVD. When he is away, I just pay some money onto his credit card and he can get what he wants. The only thing is that he has to be careful where he spends the money, because the credit card statement comes to me. LOL

I'm in the same boat as you... My partners Birthday is in a little over a week. I have booked for us to go out to Dinner at a theatre Restaurant the friday night before his Birthday and am still lost for a gift too... I usually look for things in his interest and my partner collects mazda stuff at the moment so I am looking into that although it is rather expensive some of the things he may like.... Gifts can be so Hard..

Many things I would like to get for my birthday ... apart from the very obvious one that is. Books that he might like to read .... CD's of his favourite band or singer .... garden tools if he is into gardening ... a scenic flight over the city .... a balloon flight over an area he might like to see. Those are a few things I am thinking off the top of my head that you might like to consider. I see that this discussion is a few months old now ... but you can keep the suggestions in mind for Christmas, anniversary or even next birthday. There is always something ... bit harder to buy for men than women but my partner bought me some flowers and chocolates last birthday I had ... plus a couple of other things too but the gesture was nice.
