Hi All! I've wanted to learn Mandarin my whole life and I never seem to get pass the "infancy" stage of the learning phase. I've come across chinesepod.com and find it really helpful in my little lifetime quest. Anyone else out here trying to learn Mandarin? Do you have any tips or advise to efficiently learn the language? I'd really like to hear from you. Thanks!

Hello! i'm learning mandarin too. it helps if you get a tutor. it really helps! like for me, i have a friend from china who's studying here in the Philippines. and as her sorta part-time job, she teaches mandarin. she teaches me the correct pronunciation and everything else. self-learning is also good too, but you might want to consider getting help as well so as to know if you're doing it properly :)

hi hi,,im learning mandarin also!im interested coz mandarin is unique (esp. the chinese character/hanzi).i think its so important to understand mandarin beside english.chinese people are everywhere, they're good in bussiness & china's bussiness is so developed!learn mandarin isn't enough by yourself!you need a tutor just like meimei said, its true!the pronunce isn't that easy to leaan,we need somebody who more expert to correct our pronounce!now im in a private mandarin class.not just in class,im also study at home by myself (review, read, etc) its help to remind me of the vocab!its a hard work to do,but dont give up!jiayou!
