i have tried to use c++ since it was the updated version of c. (c incremented by 1 = c++) i wanted to learn it so bad so i could make some programs of my own but it was just WAY to hard for me to comprehend. to anyone who wants to learn c++...it is exactly like learning a new language... only more dificult...if your willing to overcome this obsticle then go ahead and learn it. dont expect it to be easy though .

I don't know whether I agree with you or not. I learned C++ directly without knowing any computer language at all. It was not a bit tough or maybe my book was good.....Actually I learnt C through C++ if there was anything different. I created many programs with this language. But alas, my computer got crashed and my brother didn't know where CD has gone. So since then I'm trying to get the language software through net. Do you know any helpful site?

Well I would like to say I use one. I have been interested in learning programming, but I have not found a good place or a good book to learn from yet. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanx and nice discussion

i use c more it is a lot more user friendly and very easy to understand but i never got hold of c++ very complicated language infact we had it in our curriculum to study c and c++ but i never got hold of the latter i cant figure out what mistake i had done in the errors of c++ they are difficult to understand and debug

I believe that is cause you initially learned c and then felt no great urge to go into c++. C++ is actually easier and better organized (read OOP more so for larger programs) but for each language you have to go through the learning phase which seems tough.

Well its kind of hard to get your hands into one and leave the other untouched. C has more scope as a language with lots of available experience and expertise (and better pointer range LOL) and C++ is much easier and well organized. So i use both as n when needed but i prefer c++

It was mine too. But they were not willing to teach much. So I had to find much knowledge through experience. That's why I love it soooo much:)

I rememner back in the day learning Qbasic and I thought is was hard. I should learn C now. Can I learn for free or do I have to buy apps to learn. Is there anywhere to get a mentor? What stuff can I make with C?

You can get turbo c easily from net. There r many online resources for c. You can get them for free. You can start right now. Once you learned programming, you can do anything related to computers. Bill gates, Creator of Windows OS, used only C for creating it. It is your chance to create new things....
