Helium Earnings Test

United States
February 5, 2007 11:11pm CST
I recently joined Helium; a writing community and my articles are rated well, but so far are not earning. I think to earn you have to have direct links/clicks. Will you help me test this theory by visiting the URL below? I would very much appreciate it! http://www.helium.com/tm/145768/water-murkywelcoming-absorbing-tears Thank you so much! PS- How do you make a link within a discussion? It won't allow HTML for me.

Helium is a waste of time. Very sorry. You are a good writer and should have earned more. Try gather.com you will find alot more people who will appreciate you on there. When you join e-mail me so I can link to you as a friend.

If Helium is a waste of time, why have I made $10 there in the last week? And my rate of pay keeps increasing. You just have to know what to write and how to market it. And, the cool thing is that you can still sell your articles from Helium on other sites, as non-exclusives.

Well, if you aren't a member I can refer you and share some my "secrets"...lol. There has to be something in it for both of us! Or, maybe I'll just be nice and give you free pointers even if you are already a member.

Yes they pay one cent per person who visits your article written. So, if ten people viit your article , then you make ten cents. I have made over 11 dollars but I have over 200 articles.I average about 40 cents per day. The easiest way I got people to visit my site is to post links to my articles in forums. One day I got over 200 visits on one article. I do like Helium and will comtinue using them but mylots takes up more of my time now.

I too am a member of helium, but I haven't written anything yet. I loved your poem by the way. I write for Associated Content, and they do pay. I couldn't even figure out how to rate your poem, it wouldn't let me. I don't think I am liking Helium very much at the moment. Let me know if you get if figured out. http://www.associatedcontent.com/join.html?refer=15512 In the meantime, you can try AC, if you'd like.

Thank you:) I am a member of AC but I haven't writen anything there yet. I'm rather overwhelmed by AC, I don't think I'm good enough to post there. Helium won't let me rate anything but crappy poems about "time". I can't find a way out of the nightmare. Bleh@helium. Maybe I will try AC! yaya

I thought I read on AC's site that they don't pay for poems, if that's what you're thinking about.

No, AC does not pay for poems. I was talking about rating articles at helium. All I ever seem to get to rate are horrible love poems, it's enough to make your eyes glaze over and your arms go numb..bad bad bad poetry. I've officially made 10 cents on helium ! wooohoooo! I think I'll use the money to buy a gold plated yacht, and go boating with the Queen....

Yes, as you are finding out, direct linking to your articles helps IMMENSELY. But, even without direct linking, some of my articles have earned several dollars a piece on there. You have to remember, more popular subjects will generate more revenue, and it takes time for your articles to be rated. Some of mine earned little until later when they rose in the rankings and started earning 10 cents or more a day. So, you kind of have to be patient, but you can certainly make money. I've made over $35 in six weeks, and $10 in the last week.

I just joined helium a few days back and put up one old article. Couldn't be bothered to check back. It looks like those scams to me - you spent lotsa time and effort and all you get is not enough enough to fill a milk bottle. So tell me, is helium any good for you? Has it made you fly?

Welcome to Helium oh Lord! I have no idea if Helium is good for me, I'm certainly not flying. Hold on... Okay, I just checked and as of today I have earned... $1.73 OMG what will I do with it all? I couldn't fill a milk bottle with that if I was paid all in pennies. Sheesh

Earnings seem to be slow on Helium.

I've submitted a few things to AC, but they have rejected them all. I don't think they like me much.

I have four articles on Helium, but the one that's making the money is one I wrote about Ebay you can read it here http://www.helium.com/tm/114473/outgrown-average-seller-would It's made $22 so far where as my other articles are cents the highest being 4 cents. I think it all has to do with the keywords you use for the title and in the article.
