how do you effectively teach your children about generosity?

I feed animals and birds in front of them. I also do charity in the church. I invite nearest and dearest, and poor ones to my house and treat them sumptuous meal. I hope these activities of mine will make them generous. After all, I want them to be generuous like me and my father.
