Solids giving baby gas

My son started solids a few weeks ago. We started him on the cereals like we were supposed to and then graduated to baby food. The problem is, he has so much gas during the night, it keeps him up some times. We've tried different foods but he is still gassy. Any suggestions?

Aw, I'm sorry your baby is gassy. Have you tried using something like simethicone drops or gripe water? You can get simethicone at any local store. You give the drops after a meal. I used to work in surgery and we actually put simethicone drops through the scopes to remove bubbles in the stomach. I think the most prodominant brand is Mylicon. Also alot of moms use Gripe Water. It can be found in health food stores. It is made up of natural ingredients such as ginger, anise, chamomile, etc. Good luck! I hope your baby gets over his gas issues soon.

Yes we use the drops, it helps for a while. I think its the fruit that was giving him gas. I stopped giving him fruit for now and we switched to oatmeal cereal rather than the rice. It seems to be helping! I've heard good things about the gripe water. I think I might try it! Thanks for the help! :)
