Do you still have any of your childhood toys?

OK - I admit it....... I am in my 40's now, and I still have the teddy bear I was given on my 1st Birthday! His name is Arkasha, and he has come everywhere with me throughout my life, and I could never part with him. He sits on my bed with my favourite childhood doll, Anastasia.......... when I gave all my other dolls to the Childrens' Hospital many years ago, I couldn't bear to part with her either. So come on - does anyone else keep such memories/souvenirs from childhood, or am I all alone?

Yes, I have an "ANIMAL" puppet(from The muppet show), you put your hand up his back and can open & close his mouth, press a slider inside his head and he opens & closes his eyelids, i also have a remote control Audi Quattro car That takes 16 batteries 6C's & 10 AA's & i have never seen a faster RC car, and a donkey teddy, my kids love all of these toys now and i let them play with them sometimes i have the teddy & puppet since i was about 7 & the car since i was 12 i'm 35 now, i think it is nice to keep remnants from your childhood, it reminds me how easily amazed i was, & how much fun i had as a kid, My kids now want to keep some of their best toys for when the are older too, as they love to tell their friends "this is over 20 or 25 years old" It teaches them to have a bit of respect for the things that they have now.

Lovely comments, and it is true that it's good to teach children to respect property, - theirs and also other peoples.

Teddy and dog - My childhood toy and my mums teddy bear.
I still have the little cuddly toy dog that my grandad bought me when I was a child. It has no ears and is really worn, but is so cute. I also have my mothers only teddy bear that she had as a child. It has new eyes sewn on and is a bit dirty but its lovely. I has enclosed a photo of them for you to see.

Yes, my big box of lego, something I could never part with and it has given me so much entertainment, hours and hours of fun building and constructing. That lego was my best friend and like a best friend I couldn't give it away.

Oh yes-- I still have my Barbies and the Barbie camper- my Fisher Price House and a lot of board games like Battle ship, Battling tops, Monopoly, etc. I just can't seem to part with them. Of course I haven't touched them in years but I refuse to part with them. I wish I till had my teddy bear and raggedy ann doll- but i think my mom threw them out when I wasn't looking.

No I don't have any. I am not really sentimental and I try not to hold onto too many things. I do wish that I would have kept something to pass on to my daughter though. But I didn't think that far ahead. When I was younger I had not ever planned to have kids, I didn't even want to get married, so I guess that is why i didn't think of saving anything.

Hi there rosie_123! I'm 33 and I still have my very first teddy that my mum took the eyes off just in case i swallowed the buttons! and one other little thing that plays music. I do intend to keep some of my daughters toys etc, for when (hopefully) she has children of her own.

I have a doll I was given for my first christmas. I was 3 months old. Her name is Nancy and sadly now has no legs but I wouldn't part with her. I am also in my 40's. I would one day like to take her to a doll hospital to have fixed up. I would have to find one in Australia though.

We used to have a great Dolls' Hospital local to me when I was a child - my dolls were always visiting! Sadly, I don't think it is there anymore:-(( Thanks for answering this question.

I have my Chrissy Doll, I got her when I was in 5th grade. My kids say she is scary but I still think she is pretty, her hair still grows and I just have always thought that it was neat. I also have a Brass Unicorn my Step dad bought for me when I graduated High School. It's not really considered a toy but it reminds me of the time I loved unicorns.

Not any toys, but I do have a red apron that my mother and I made together when I was 7, well she did most of the sewing. But I will never part with it. I have some of my dad's toys, and I kept some of my own kid's things. But my things were not saved for me. I take after my dad's mother and I saved all kinds of things. I do still have the ID bracelet I wore in the hospital at 10 yrs. old when I had my tonsils out, does that count?

Yes - why not? It can count if you want it to :-))

I think its ok to keep toys because they might be worth something one day. But its better to keep it in a case or something like I do my porclein dolls.

I still have a small brown bear I use to play with as a small child. I have him in a zip lock bag and plan to give it to my first grand child.

I am 32 years old and consider my self to be quite masculine, but underneath it all I am still glad I kept hold of my favourite teddy bear from when i was a child. He was the only one I had to talk to when i was a kid after my older brother bullied me all the time and if I remember rightly he was a good listener. lol

I tried to keep my toys and things from childhood but my husband throwed most of the away when I was away visiting family in a different state about 10 years ago. Boy was I pissed when I got home. But it was to late they already the garbage man already picked up the garbage.

I still have my Barbie doll, one of the first ones ever produced. (Unfortunately, Barbie is bald because I was small and I didn't understand the concept of a dolls hair not growing back, lol) I also have the very first doll I was given when I was 5 years old. It was one of the first dolls that 'walked', and it was just as big as I was at the time. I have a few other little toys from back then, one of them is a china tea-set that my Grandma gave me when I was small. Every time I look at them I'm instantly 5 years old again, well, in memories anyways!

Yes, I still have Tiny Teddy a little white-coloured stuffed bear that my Grandpa gave me when I was born. I'm 40 now and I still have him. He is tattered and missing one eye, but I would never part with him. This may sound morbid to you all, but I have asked my spouse and children to insure that I am either buried or cremated with him. Yes, I am a sentimentalist at heart. Cheers!

I have ALL my CareBears still and many of my stuffed animals that I just couldn't bear to part with. In fact I even go out in search through my family to see if they have any CareBears they don't want anymore... What can i say? I love them.
