How does one deal with a nasty boss?

My boss is always throwing in little barbs that demean and belittle the employees. Besides the obvious of looking for a new job, how does one deal with a boss that is not so nice?

I go over his head and take it to HIS boss or to HR. If you dont have that option I take it directly to him and explain to him that demeaning and belittling employees IS harrasment & can cause some serious damage to him should he continue with his ways. Dont take that sort of crap, nobody should have to! You can stop it from happening.
