My mother grew up in Columbus. She was born in 1944. Anyone live in Columbus throughout 1944-1970? How was life? What was there to do? I want to learn more about her. I plan to take a trip out there soon. I used to go a lot as a child with my mother but havent been since she passed.

I've never lived there, but my niece goes to college in Columbus, and I've visited her several times. It's a nice city, but I can't compare it to how it was back in the time frame you are interested in. I was there recently for a hockey game (Buffalo Sabres vs. Columbus). We lost, but it was a good game and there were as many, if not more, Buffalo fans there than Columbus fans, which made it a lot of fun for us! Good luck finding out more about your mother. That's a sensitive and thoughtful aspiration, to find out more about her earlier years.

What area of Columbus? It has grown so much over the years. My brother-in-law and his family live down there in the Polaris section. Which I know wasn't developed in the 70's yet. We always took our daughters to Cosi in the 80's and 90's.
