I've always been into a dilemma on what program to use for me to get fit. I've tried many different things. I had this cd's of hiphop workout that i did at home (which failed me). The 5-minutes a day ab workout went out fine for me (but since i wasn't consistent with it, results failed too). I tried going to a gym.. yet with the boring lifting of weights and all that, it didn't work for me either. Luckily, there was this one time i was passing through a street somewhere near our church and saw this Boxing Center (ELORDE BOXING CENTER). So i thought,hmm.. maybe i can try out on this one. So i went in, enrolled myself. 2 days after that i went on my workout outfit, paid my session and started. I was assigned to a trainer (good thing about this is it is a one-on-one program with your trainer; trainer's are professionals here so its a good start). First Program: Stretchings/warm-up We had a couple of stretches for the ankles, legs, arms, shoulders, head. Then 3 rounds (which is 3 minutes if i'm not mistaken) of jogging around the place (this was really exhausting!) Second Program: Jump ropes 1 to 2 rounds of jump ropes (it was a great exercise fot the legs and abs as well.. this really got my abs and obliques working!) Third Program: Punching Mitts The trainer shows a series of punches teaching you how to do it right. Then he shouts out a series of combinations that you're supposed to do, alongside with the footwork. (you'll be huffling and puffling in no time!) It takes about 3 rounds to do this. Fourth Program: Punching Bag After punching mitts, usually the trainer takes you to the punching bag, allowing you to do different combinations (jab, straight, hook, upper). 1-2 rounds. Fifth Program: Punching the two-end ball It takes a skill to do this. You develop your response to rhythm (less footwork on this). 2 Rounds Sixth Program: Punching speedball Again another rhythm and timing movement. THis develops the arms and shoulders. 2-3 rounds. Seventh Program: Punching Mitts The trainer allows you to punch a few more combinations with the mitts. This usually goes for 2-3 rounds. Eigth Program: Ab workout The session ends with an ab workout. This is a killer one!!! Good thing about this program is that there is interval training (alternating the mitt workout with the balls and punchbag).. likewise for every program there's a 1 minute rest for each. This has made my body in pain! Yet the pain was worth it! Great results!!!
