I think both have pro and cons. I prefer c-sect but I want to deal with normal birth also. The risk is always to be considered too. I hope any of the ways above should save babies and also give mum a good, healthy life after that.

I have not had the opportunity to have c-sect. Both of my kids were delivered the normal way. But given a choice if there are no complications, I would opt for natural birth because the wound heals faster :)

Before I had my first child I also consider having a c sect, but my doctor to convinced me to have a normal delivery since I'm pretty healthy. I'm glad i have taken her advice because having felt the baby coming out of me was magical. True that the experience was really very painful but it was all worth it. The experience made me a different a person.

yup its true. I'd really want to have normal birth. but, the baby still did not engaged (doctor's term). I'm glad you have the best experience ever. BTW, the cost of c-sect is more expensive than normal birth. I think money isn't a problem right? :D Just make sure baby n mom healthy and save.

I have never had a c-section but know mothers who have. I have only experienced natural births and am very happy for that. Of the ones who had a purely elective c-section they later regretted it because they felt they could not hold and carry their newborn the way they wanted to at the beginning. But, one of my friends had an emergency c-section which saved her baby and was a blessing. She treasures her scar to this day.

Yup thats true kate. I'm having c-sect since my baby didn't engaged till the due date comes. My doctor advise us to go for c-sect to avoid baby die or suffocate. Then, we've waited 1 week after due date. Nothing happens then I go for the c-sect. Some cases do need c-sect, if possible do experienced normal birth. I'd really want to go for normal birth. :)

I have had c-sect with my 1st born 1 yr 8 mths ago. It was a horrible experience. It got scar too. I hope to have a normal delivery next time. I will never want to go through c-sect again, unless if my baby is in danger or there's no other choice. I still believe natural is the best.

I always thought that i'd prefer normal birth. But i have yet to discover when the time comes. Anyway, it all depends. I'll take into consideration too on what the doctor has to say. They always know what is the best for their patient. But preferably, i'll go with normal birth though my sister in-law always convince me that c-sect is always the best option since i will not suffer that much and besides, the effect after giving birth is also less compared to normal birth. However, i also believe that God has reason for all happenings on us.

I would have prefered Natural birth but that didn't happen for me. I had to have an emergency c-section. My c-section was horrible, It took the doctors an hour to get the spinal in me because I have a curvature in my back, a day after my c-section I devoloped a blood clot in my leg which later broke in two and traveled to my lungs. I am sure there are other women out there who had wonderful c-sections! Not everybody is lucky!

Owh.. I'm very sorry to hear that. I have the best doctor for my c-sect. He's a very nice doctor. I'm in the labor room for one hour. Start at 8am and I'm out from that room at 845am. My baby come out at 830am. No worries, hope that u can have ur second baby in good c-sect or maybe normal deliveries. ;)

i am 5 months pregnant with my first child right now and i would surely choose normal birth if possible. i would surely not want c-sect if given a choice because i don't it's easier, cheaper, healthier (i think) and i would be up and i won't have to worry about stitches that would be there forever lol

That's true. I think about it that a lot. All moms prefer to have normal birth. Me too. Hope you'll be safe and healthy mom. :)

i'm crossing my fingers that i'll be giving birth normally. I never liked the idea of surgery and having to recover from your stitches after the delivery when there's so much to be done (caring for your newborn).

Its true. I didn't ask for c-sect. *sad*. I want to have normal deliveries. I want to have 6 kids (as we had plan earlier). But, now maybe 3/4 kids only. I pray that I can deliver normal deliveries. :)

I prefer normal birth than c section. Though I have not experienced the c section, the healing process definitely takes a lot of time compared to the normal delivery. Mothers who delivered their babies normally gets to recover faster. However, there are really some instances that c section is preferred especially when the life of the baby is on the line.

That's true. Until now, I still feel the pain (not really painful) the uneasiness feel from the c-sect wound. The pain after operation is very.. very painful. I took one shot of pain killer. That's all. Then, I can't move a lot. I'd really like to avoid the c-sect. Incase happen again, must be a really good reason. :)

With my first child, I had a natural birth. It was a very long labor(30 hrs), but I was on my feet a few hours later and feeling pretty good the next day. With my second child, we had to have an emergency c-section due to complications that put both of our lives in danger. It was horrible, they could not get the epidural in right, so I had to have general anesthesia. My son was taken quickly and violently, but we both survived, which is the most important thing, of course. However, I had a hard time coming out of it and the pain was incredible, I did not see my baby for about 9 hours and could barely hold him for the first day. It was an awful ordeal, but I got a great prize! For my third child, I wanted very much to have a natural birth again. My doctor convinced me that another c-section would be safer due to my scar tissue and the possibility of a rupture that could cause fatal blood loss. I had a planned c-section with an epidural and it could not have gone smoother. I was awake, alert and heard my baby's first cry. The block wore off gradully and the pain was not unmanageable at all. By that night, I was sitting up and holding my son. After experiencing child birth both ways, I would say that having a natural birth if possible would be the best. It is hard, but very rewarding and your body gets back into shape much easier. When all those muscles get cut, your stomach is never quite the same again.

Yup. Thats right. Still I felt uneasy with my stomach. I prefer normal birth. This scar from operation outside make me feel scared. I wear strap to wrap my belly. I think I need to refer my doc or midwife for checking. I hope I won't face this c-sect anymore (*_*)
