At what age do you start believing your pains might be symptoms?

I was reading a list of possible symptoms of a heart attack. When you are young, you automatically think it doesn't apply to you, but at some point it does. They include: 1:Chest discomfort, pain or discomfort in arms, back, neck, jaw or stomach. 2: Shortness of breath 3: Cold sweat, nausea, vomiting or lightheadedness. Then they advise you not to wait longer than five minutes before calling for help. If I called an emergency number every time I had pain in my arm, jaw, back or neck I might as well live at the hospital.

I think somewhere in your 30s should be around the right time. That's usually when you start noticing how your knees pop when you get up and how aches and pains start to infiltrate your life. :P

I really think I am less of a hypochondriac now than when I was in my thirties. Maybe it is the denial kicking in? But when I have pain in my jaw now, I will think there's the old TMJ or it could be a serious symptom?..Or when I have pain from my elbow down to my hand, is that carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis or a blocked artery? I guess I will be one of those people who keeps saying, "I'm fine" right before they die.
