I am a teacher and work in both the private and public school systems. I enjoy both but they are also very different. It seems that everyone is very opinioniated about the subject. The way I see it there are definetly pros and cons to both. What do you think? If you want to ask me any questions about either, I will do my best to answer :)

Quality of education depends on one's country and government. In the Philippines, private schools have better quality ranking than public schools. The former have better teaching methods, more learning facilities and smaller teacher-student ratio.

Some teachers in public elementary and high schools are not qualified enough to teach because they just got hired through political or family connections.

I prefer private school. Administration of a private school is less complecated. And since it does not have red-tapizm so it can make any decision quickly. Therefore it pays more attention to students. It has authority to take action so students of such school are more desciplined.

I think the only difference between public and private schools is the fee and the length of time the students stay in school. Well, that is the difference in the schooling system here in the Philippines. In PUblic schools- since there's limited rooms, the students are only allowed to come to school for half a day- say 4 hrs- compared to the pricate school schedule of 8 hrs/day.This is done so that the public schools can accomodate most of its students. I believe there are usually 3 shifts for public schools- with 4 hrs of school time for each. There are other public schools here in the philippines who has the same priveleges of a private school, by having the same school hours. However, these are the schools that are for the cream of the crop- for the most intelligent kids in the country- I think they dont have tuition fee- but they do have a maintaining average- just like scholars. These schools are funded by sponsors and are given more priority by the government unlike the other common public schools available.
