He can be so rude sometimes! This poor girl from San Antonio, Tx went in for her audition, and she was pretty shy. Simon started laughing even before the poor girl opened her mouth to sing!! She screwed it up of course, with the nervousness, the shyness and Simon's mocking laugh. How could she not?? I know it's all for show, every reality tv has a bad guy, but some real people are getting their feelings hurt in this. Do you thing they should put someone else instead? Or keep mean Simon Cowell on?

it's true simon can be mean sometimes, but some people who come in just do it for the attention anyway, and you have to remember that they are judges, and they can't waste time just patronizing people. some people really cannot sing and they come for auditions because their liar friends tell them that they can sing. And you have to admit, sometimes simon does say out loud what's on all of our minds.

I think he's rude most of the time. Or should I say he's rude all the time. Yet American Idol won't be the same without him. I think we can do without Paula and the other guy -- see? i can't even remember the black guy's name. Anyway, Simon's character is just right for American Idol. Why? because you need to filter out millions of people who want to be an American Idol. If they were all nice, there'll be a lot of American Idol wanna bes getting in who are not even that good. Simon is brutally honest. I say, keep Simon. Another reason for doing that is because he's the one who keeps American Idol more interesting. Come on, what sets another singing contest to this singing contest show? It's Simon! So keep Simon.

I do agree that without Simon, it wouldn't be the same.

the show would not be the same without simon he adds balance to the other judges. I like simon he's usaully right in what he says maybe not the way he says it but his judgement.
