Have you ever rescued (adopt) a stray dog?

Today most go after pedigrees and the mixed breed mostly end up in cages or destroyed. I dont want to hear you buying them or picked one from a friend's litter, but actually adopted a stray/s you found or gone to a shelter humane society and took one home? Tell us your favorite rescued pooch's story!

2 of my dogs are pound puppies, my 2 cats are pound kittys. My third dog, I guess she could be considered a rescue, previous owner really didn't care for her properly. Now she's totally blind. I don't have any favorite stories, other then the one was a real pain in the butt for a few months, and almost went back. He's the best now.

Both our Bassett Hounds were adopted. The male, Dathan
was adopted from someone who didn't want their dog's pups.
The female, Chica, we adopted a year later at the humane
society to be a companion for Dathan.
