Have you drifted apart from an old friend?

I have found that as we get older, we don't always have much in common with some of our old friends. I really noticed this about 10 years ago when I gt married. I was settling down and my good friend wa still going out to bars, having one night stands, etc. When I went on to have my babies we had even less in common. Truthfully, I think she's jealous that I'm married and have a house and kids. We hardly talk any more and it's not that I haven't tried. I hang out with a group of Mommies now, because we have our young kids in common. Have you ever drifted apart from a good friend? What were the circumstances?

I think all people have friends that they have drifted apart from for several reasons. i drifted apart from my best friend, jsut because I grew up and she took alittle longer. we just wanted different things when we got older.
The good thing is that after years we actually found our way back to eachother and today we are closer than we ever have been!

I have done this with one of my friends from childhood. It seems like she hasn't changed almost one bit, even after having kids, and I just don't feel that I have much in commoo with her anymore. I still love her as a person, but it seems harder for me to hang out with her because I have moved on a lot as a person from the point in my life that I was at when we were really close.

I find that now i am a father and living away from my schoolhood chums, i very rarely hear from them. Now it is the case of any friends i have from university are now rarely in touch also as i suppose they are busy. But its always seems to be me who gets in touch with them first. Oh Well thats life i suppose
