What is your earliest memory?

My earliest memory is from when I was about 3 years old and it involved me getting told off by my mother for climbing on top of a doll house and looking out over a balcony. I also have vague recollections of swimming lessons and people packing up items when my family moved to Australia. Aside from these things I don't remember anything else from before the age of 5 or so. Anyone able to go back further than this? I remember reading about a man who was saying that he could recall his actual birth???

One of my earliest memories is from about the age of 3 or 4, I'm not certain. In this memory I have just come out into our backyard and the screen door is banging behind me. The dew is sparkling on the grass and I am feeling elated in my aliveness and eager to experience the new day. Currently I have some things going on with my body, nothing too serious, but still I would prefer it otherwise. I read in a book I have (and LOVE) called 'The Nature of Personal Reality' that by going back to the moment of conception and reprogramming the cells for perfect health you can effect changes in the condition of the body. I am still working on that. I have remembered bits from other lives I have lived though, so I'm certain that it is possible.

That is certainly a very young age to remember all the way back to! And as for the visualization and regression healing you are referring to; I most definitely believe that this is possible. There is a book called "Autobiography of a Yogi" by Paramahansa Yogananda. If you have not read it, please do! Thanks for responding and I wish you success with your journey!

I have seen that book around a lot. I don't know why I have never read it. Maybe because I do not actually aspire to be a yogi. I practice asana but I am not interested in the religious beliefs associated with it. I am downloading the book right now though since you have recommended it! I will let you know what I think of it when I have read it.

PS: And what do you mean 3 or 4 is a 'very young age to remember all the way back to' when your earliest memory too is at that age!!! Hehehe, when I first read your original post I pictured you trying to look out over the balcony of the doll house! On rereading it I see that what you actually said was that you climbed onto the doll house to look out over the balcony... a life sized balcony I presume! It's a wonder you didn't crush it! Does that mean you have sisters?

My earliest memory dates back to when I was five years old and witnessing live the landing of man on the Moon on my parents' black-and-white TV set. I may have earlier memories, but none is as vivid as this one. As for the man remembering his own birth, this is a physiological impossibility. The brain -- and the different memories it is able to store -- is not properly wired at birth to recall this kind of information. And this is a good thing, at it would be a pretty painful memory!

What a great early memory to have! I unfortunately was not around at all then and "popped" out a few years later! I didn't think a memory of birth sounded feasible either and wish I could recall where I came across this..... Thanks for responding.
