I say it's a catch 22..many children thrive on this..others who are not ready to learn crawl into a shell..some never come out... I do want to point out it's parenst pushing their kids into to many activites or too much learning that destroys childhoods...Free play time is disappearing more and more at home..

I don't think so. You have to challenge kids otherwise it would be way too easy for them. School is very important and I think that they are teaching the right subjects in the right age groups.
