It doesn't matter, myth or not, it only shows that even the most sacred ideas can be questioned and discussed. although most of the ideas about the church-crist relation are not new, still it is a work of art that touches the reader feelings and desire for mystry.

its half myth, half reality. but we cant tell if its fully a myth or not.but what ever it maybe the book became a best seller and was a good book to read too. hats off to dan brown for writing such a book. the suspense build up was superb.i totally loved the book.

I think it is a fiction plus some reality.A mix of both.But anyway it was interesting to read it

The daVinci Code was a work of fiction. Dan Brown never said otherwise. What is really confusing though for many people is the fact that he mixes facts with fiction. For instance he gives the address of the Opus Dei cult in New York. Yes, indeed that was the real address. Then he uses some real events in history and real places in France and Scotland. So people are intrigued and actually go on DaVinci Code tours to all these places. Some of my friends have debated that many situations in the book could have happened the way he described them. Personally, I believe it was a work of fiction.
