What is time?

Do you think that time is lateral, in that it just keeps continuing with no end? Or do you think it is cyclical where it returns to the beginning to run again?There are lots of issues involved in this question especially the Religious views. Buddhists would probably believe in a constantly revolving time, whereas Christians would probably believe that time is continuous. Time is obviously distinguished by the number of revolutions or orbits our planet does, with the reoccurrance of seasons and day and night time. Its strange when you stop and think about things that are usually in the background.
