I wonder how many of us use a Mac. People who use a Mac they say that Mac is far better than a PC. Will Mac one day cover the most of the market? What is your opinion? Are you planning to buy a Mac?

Yes I use a Mac, have done for about 8 years now, I used to use a PC but a friend of mine showed me his Mac and proved to me that it was much better and more user friendly, so since then I switched and have had a Mac ever since. I have currently got a G5, Mac OSX 10.3.9. I could never go back to using a PC again, Mac's do not suffer from viruses or worms like PCs. I used to design maps and I had an Illustrator package to do diagrammatical maps which I could only do on a Mac. Mac is growing all the time and you see them more and more now. Although it is easier to get help and assistance when a PC goes wrong, as computer technicians and companies are more au fait with PCs you tell them you have a Mac if you're trying to use a site for example, or you have a technical problem with your Mac then most people will not be able to help you.

Who use Mac they all say that once you use Mac you will not back to PC again. Hope in very near future people will learn to fix a Mac and then it will not be problem for Mac user when something goes wrong with it.

Since you use a Mac, I will ask a question. Can you run just about any program on a Mac that you can on a PC? It used to be said that you could not run a lot of programs on a Mac because computer programers write programs mostly for PCs. Is this still true?

I actually started out using a Mac - however now I use a pc and i do not think I will go back to Mac - it is just weird to jump between them and I feel as if my knowledge is better when it comes to pc... But never say never =)

Thanks for that comment. Now I don't feel so bad for not spending the money on a MAC to see what that would be like.

Honestly we are thinking of it. My husband is wanting one. Me I don't have an opinion really. If it works and lets me get my work done, I'm happy.

I have a PC and I'm not thinking of paying a Mac, yes i know they are better but it's expensive and you can't use all the "Windows" software, I mean the independent software is always designed for Windows users and very few include a Mac version.. anyway from what i read, it's still more targeting "businesses" than home users, if the prices goes down the compatibilities issues will be also solved; when it's more popular software developers must keep it in their minds..

I know lots of people who use Mac and they are very happy with it. Specially people who have to presnt seminer or any kind of presentation they like it more. They say they will not come back to PC. My huby is planing to buy a Mac, he want it to make things easy when presenting a seminer.

I doubt Mac will ever take over the market. There is just way too much ground to make up from Microsoft. That being said, OSX is a fantastic operating system. I have been a windows user my entire life. I have 4 Windows computers in my home and I have little bad to say about them. I did purchase an Intel MacBook Pro last year because I really was curious about OSX and wanted to try it out. I was sold from the very beginning. The operating system is just so intuitive and I have never had to reboot or had the system freeze up in the 10 months I have been using it. It is a fantastic machine and is superior to my others when it comes to processing photos and videos (of which I have over 10,000). Despite this, I would bet they never become as popular as Windows machines. Even though I could run windows on this computer, I have absolutely no desire to install it. Not really being on the hackers radar running OSX, I enjoy the added security of just having one operating system on it.

Great topic, I'm glad someone brought this up. I only know one person who uses a MAC and he would never buy a PC. The other day while I was sitting in Vancouver, BC waiting for my log book to allow me to make a move. I went to the shopping mall to kill some time. While their, I went into a Futureshop store and was looking at all the neat new stuff. I was lookin at the laptops when I seen for the 1st time in the flesh, a MAC laptop. I'm sure they would have their own name for it. But anyway, I started playing with it and all I can say is, it is definitely different. I've only been into computers since 2000 and with my job I barely get much time with my computer. So I think it might take me to long to switch from being a PC user to a MAC user. I hear the new windows Vista is pretty close to what a MAC is like. So I guess when this computer finally gives up the ghost, I'll get one with the latest version.

In our country many people still prefer Windows Xp than Mac. Only professionals with high salary can afford Mac.

I'd love a Mac .. but they are just too expensive for me to consider buying one .. but everyone who has one says they'd never switch back to an 'ordinary' PC .. so they must be good .. if only more folks would buy one I am sure the cost would come down a bit too ..

a mac is better in terms of its use the consumer, it caters to people who has to do some graphic designing has a very tedious task of incorporation. but all of these can be done in a pc.having a mac is just a status, if you do your work in the mac all your life and in an emergency your mac got busted it is hard for someone to use the pc.a pc is more of a work efficient tool than a mac.and it is a lot more expensive, you get a real good pc for the price of one simple basic mac.why do you think that the mac o.s can now run a windows o.s?pc is better than a mac.

I think Mac lost out a while back and is only popular in the US.It is goingto take a lot of work for them to get back to their regaled position again.

If they weren't so darned expensive, I would already have one. As is though, I am hoping that the next time I have to buy a new laptop I will be able to afford a Mac. They simply put out a far superior product!
