Why?

Do we sing "Rock a bye baby to lull our little ones to sleep when the song is about putting your baby in a tree and letting the wind crash the cradle to the ground?

LOL, I have wondered this on many occasions as well. Really the majority of the nursery rhymes are not very nice or happy. Miss Muffett got scared away by a spider, and poor Humpty Dumpty was broken beyond repair. I have sang that song to my children though countless times and read them all the nursery rhymes. It's rather odd behaviour on our part I must admit, lol

I often wondered that to when I first had my daughter! I stopped singing the song to her cuz it freaked my out!! LOL!! I know I'm weird but it just didn't sound right to me! I started singing Jesus Loves Me! and we still sing that song everynight before we go to sleep and my daughter is 4 now!
