Has anyone been to Ireland? What did you think?

I am part Irish, and my fiance is definitely and Irish boy. I think I have a thing for Irish men, lol, my ex-husband was very Irish too! Anyway, I would absolutely love to visit Ireland. I'd get married there, or at least honeymoon there, if I could afford it. I've heard great things and seen so many gorgeous pictures. Can anyone give me an account of their visit?

My husband is 3/4 Irish and very proud of it! In fact, our kids all have irish names. Our oldest's name is Irish Cian! lol..and our twins are Devlin and Rayne! My husbands original last name is McKellip but when his family came over here the US made them change it to Roddy. He went to Ireland a few times when he was a child and tells me how beautiful it is, especially all of the castles! One day we would love to take a family vacation there!

lol My fiance is very proud of it too! He has 2 kids from his 1st marriage. I don't know how Irish they are, but they are very unique.....Annwyn Tressa and Ashe Tymper. We haven't figured out a name for our next child yet. I love your kids' names! Why would they make your husband's family change their last name? That doesn't seem right to me. Yeah, I'm hoping to visit sometime in the next 10 years, when we can afford it!

Well I'm off to Ireland tomorrow morning! My mother is from Ireland and one of her brothers still lives there in the old house in the middle of the country. So when we go we stay with him and have a great time. this time we're going for my uncles 80th birthday and we've arranged a surprise party for him so there'll be lots of friends and family there. and don't even think that he's too old for going out, over there all the old people still go to the pubs, my uncle goes out about 5 evenings a week to drink and dance with his girlfriend so there's plenty of life in the old dog yet haha. I love going over there, it feels more like home to me and I wasn't even born there!!! The grass is many shades of green, the guinness is the best in the world, the pubs are great fun and the people are all friendly. It's the best place in the world. It might not always be hot and sunny but the scenery and the people more than make up for that!!

I have been there few times. In the north and in the south. It is a beautiful country with lovely people. The great things that you heard about Ireland are true and you must visit it.

Ireland is one of my favourite places to visit. The people are so nice and so helpful. If you seem the slightest bit confused, there will be people asking if they can help you, and they do help. The same is true of Japan, where they go even further to make sure you get where you're going, but in Ireland they trust that you can read the signs. The food and the music in Ireland are excellent, and of course there are the castles. But I must say the best part of visiting Ireland is meeting the people.

I've been, I loved it, and I want to go back. There're so many things to see and do that I don't think I could fit them into one post!
