I like Carl Edwards. I don't know why, I just do. He just seems like a nice guy and he's nice to look at, lol. And he's from Columbia, MO which isn't far from where I went to college and I hung out at the mall there while I was pregnant.
My husband is a big Mark Martin fan. He has like 3 Martin hats and several shirts. My kids also have their favorites. My oldest daughter loves Jamie McMurray because he has "sticking up hair." (She is 6). My son roots for Elliot Sadler. He picked him because he drove the M&M car and it was yellow. Now he is kind of lost because he doesn't drive that car. He is leaning towards Greg Biffle because Subway is one of his sponsers and my son loves Subway (he's 5). And our almost 4 year old daughter absolutely loves Bobby LaBonte. She too picked him because of the color of his car (back when she was 1 and he drove the green car). She still roots for him.

Mine is bobby labonte , i met him in person and he is just the nicest man. It's funny because i picked him in 1997 when i saw him on my TV guide cover and just stuck with him. He is now driving the 43 car .....It's nice to see that your whole family shares in the fun of nascar.

Yeah, my husband got me hooked on it after we got married and we just pulled the kids in. My son has an M&M hat that he loves. We got it just before Elliot changed teams. And we picked up an old 18 Labonte hat for our daughter earlier this season to remember her love of that green car. She tells us now "there is bobby babonny(that's how she says his name) old car" when she sees the 18, lol. I also found a labonte 43 shirt that I bought for myself to wear for my daughter. Haven't found a McMurray hat for our oldest, yet, though. My son also has 4 model cars (the 1:24 scale I think). He loves those things. My 4 year old has an 18 car, too.
Next year I plan to do our family picture with all of us wearing our NASCAR hats.

thats so cool , my family has a pic already of us all wearing our #18 jackets , it's going to be a nice picture when you get to take it , make an 8x10 ...have fun.

I like to find the new driver each year as rookies. That way no one can say I've jumped on the bandwagon. My first year of really watching Nascar was Kasey Kahne's first year so he is my FAVE. I liked Carl Edwards and am sorry he's having such a rough year. My rookie this year is Denny Hamlin. I had him in my fantasy league even before the Bud Shootout last Feb. He's gonna go far in his career.

I picked all those rookies, too. Carl is still my favorite after last year. It was his first full year racing (even though he wasn't up for rookie of the year) and he, what, finished 3rd in points for the championship. Talk about an awesome year. I wish he wasn't having such bad luck this year. My husband has started to pick on him--calling him a "hothead" because he has been getting into other cars. I think he is just frustrated and not controlling it well. Next year will be better. Just look at how Kahne did. His rookie year was great (even though he didn't win) then last year he sucked and now this year he has the most wins out of any driver. Great comeback Kasey!

I started watching Nascar when I was dating my now husband. He has been an avid fan for many years. It took me a little while but now I am addicted! I am absolutely in love with Tony Stewart. :o) I really like how he doesn't take any lip. He is a really funny guy once you watch him. My husband LOVES Mark Martin. Sometimes I feel my house should be a shrine....we have so many articles with the #6 on it. Next year we will be sporting the #01 I guess.

I understand your husband's reaction. I think that was mine's also. But the loyalty he feels I'm sure will make him watch the races next year. I can't stand how folks are making such a big deal about him going from Ford to Chevy. I think it should be about the driver, not the type of car he drives. That's just me though....also helps that we drives Chevys. :o)
Last night was horrible, he was so close to leading in the points. Having Martin lead (the points) even for just a few laps was wonderful! I was so sad to see him get wrecked by JJ Yeley. You are right about him having class, I'm sure he wanted to say lots also. I bet I said a few things he was thinking. ha ha!
That is so cute about your son. Here's one from my daughter. Jeff Green was winning one race and my husband was saying "Go Green"...my daughter was watching with him, and before I knew it she was shouting " Go Blue" "Go Red"! It was too cute. Kids say the most amazing things....
