Did you know that your purse should not weigh nor more than 7 to 10 percent of your total body weight? If you carry a heavy purse you are putting your self in danger of micro muscle damage among other ailments. I know I can't carry a heavy purse my neck tends to hurt a lot worse than it usually does and my arm goes numb.

The question of micro muscle damage does not arise, since I do not keep wallet at all. I carry a pen and a credit card.

Eek! This is a dangerous question, hehehe. my purse is waaaaaay too heavy! Probably close to 8 pounds. It's bad I know, and I've tried to switch to smaller purses now just so I'll be lugging around less weight. I was recently diagnosed wiht a couple of slipped discs impinging on a nerve, whcih causes a lot of pain down my leg. Lessening the weight of my purse has helped ease the pain tremendously.
