At what age do you want to die?

I know, only God knows that but if you could pick, how old would you want to be when you go? I'd want to die between 90-95. I want to live as long as I can, to be able to be with my family. The thought of getting old and dying just scares me, but I want to be old before I die. My husband always says he wants to be around 70-80. But to me, 70 is not that old to die. He says he doesn't want to be sick and not able to get up and do anything, but I'm not expecting to be lying around at 70! How about you?

Well, up until the last few years I would have said "The age I am now" but lately I'm finding myself with a lot of things to live for. I have a lot of health problems, though, so I'd hate to see me at 90. I'd probably be in pieces! How about... 60? That would make my son 35, which isn't too early to lose a parent, though a little early I guess. Hopefully next lifetime I'll be healthier, and then maybe I'll do the old age bit that time!

I'm older than 35 and wouldn't want to lose either of my parents yet! Not for a LONG LONG time please! Not that I would want to see them suffer, but 60 is pretty darned young!

You have a good point, LindaLou. I really wouldn't wish it on my son to lose his mother so early, but at the same time I don't want to grow to where I can't take care of myself. I spent a large part of my childhood being very very illl, and I'd rather not go back to that state.

I myself always wanted to die at age 35. That is if I don't have a wife or seady girl friend. If i don't have either of those then I'm just sitting around taking up space and should move on and let someone else have at it. Let the younger generation have a chance.

Well I'm sorry you feel that way. That's sad to hear. That's pretty young of an age to want to go. I believe everyone has a place and reason for being in this world so don't think you're taking up space. I'm sure you are a great person, and surely deserve to live a longer life than that. Thanks for taking your time to respond.

i totally agree with your husband because why would anyone want to live to be 90 and have to take pills everyday and still be sick at the same time. theres no point to live that long and if people do live that long then i think that means that they didnt have much fun in their life. all they wanted to do was live a healthy life and didnt do the fun things in life.

Well, this is interesting...If given the keys to my exsistance I would not depart from this place until at least my 70's by then my kids will be grown. They will be set in their lives and if they are going to have kids thwy would by then. I'd like to experience being a grandparent. I think I would be good at it. Then again I saw a immortal life potion on ebay...

i would like to live to be an old age like you, but like your husband I would like to remain fit and active. I dont' see the point in living extra years if you are stuck in a nursing home and can't do anything for yourself any more.

I don't really have an age in mind. I would just like to go when my body and mind start going. As long as my mind is clear and I can take care of myself I want to live
