About prophets and resurrection and faith

Suppose there is a prophet X , who died 1000 years ago ,but is still followed by millions of people today . Now imagine this prophet X suddenly reappeared (imagine while youre at it that people can identify prophet X and be certain it's the same person,also imagine that it is possible to come back from death ) .How ,in your opinion ,will that affect the followers ?? #a Millions flock to this religion after being convinced by the prophet . #b Millions leave the religion and become atheists .
