Bad experience with Catholicism!

I just want to share a really bad experience with my religion. I've been a Catholic since birth....did everything, been baptized, confirmed and all that. The only thing lacking is getting married in church (we had a civil wedding). My husband and I put this on hold and prioritize more important things (saving up, getting ready for the baby etc.). I was hospitalized since I was having a threatened abortion and was bleeding. We went to a Catholic hospital (the same hospital where I was born), everything was great, the service, the people etc....then sunday came. We were hearing mass through the system and waited for our turn to get the holy communion. Then at last the priest knocked into our room. I was happy to see him so I can take communion, then he asked me if we were married, I said yes..then he asked if we got married in church, I said no. Then he said, he can't give me communion since we weren't married in church! He even said maybe when we come back and had a church wedding that's the time he can give us communion. Hell it really pissed me off!!! I was sick and I was hoping my religion would be passionate and understanding enough! But hell no, I felt discriminated and I felt bad. I hate it!!!!

Ohh man.. That's really bad. I hate that kind of thing happening. That's pure discrimination. I had a bad experience with catholicism too and that made me not go to church anymore. There was this chappel I attend mass on the feeds everyone after the mass. Then soon after the mass, there were a family of street people who went there and ask for food. The owner of the chappel shouted at them and said that they're only after the food that's why they attended the mass. I hate that since it's like almost telling everyone that we only go there to eat. And I never attended mass in there ever again.

Ohhh that is really terrible! Huh, now you ask is they are practicing what they're preaching! Anyway, my husband is actually an Atheist and with what I have experienced, I am slowly doubting my religion! Thanks for the response!

Thats horrible! I don't get religion or religious people! It's all rules by their books and if you don't follow the rules, then they condem you to hell it seems. I'm a God fearing person myself, but I don't get into all that religious stuff. I live my day by how God tells me to. I'm sorry that that guy did that to you cuz in your time of pain, you didn't deserve that. Those things make no sense to me why people do that.

This has been a recurring complaint by people about Catholicism. It is a sad state of the Church for these "all mighty" priests to deny some of our fellow lay people the opportunity to participate in receiving the sacraments due to their "unchristian-like" situations. That is one hypocrisy the church needs to address. These representatives seem to forget that the sacraments (especially communion) should be gicven to those who ask. It is Jesus' legacy for His church to share the graces and love of His ministry. Well, my solution for you is to forgive these hypocrites... for they know not what they are doing.
