How does your child(dren)'s father compare to his own father?

Do you think he's a better dad? Worse? The same? Do you see that he's repeating a cycle (be it good or bad) that his father may have started, or simply got from his own dad? Does your child(ren)'s dad seem to be a more integral part of their lives than his own dad was in his?

My mother and father separated beore I was a year old. My father always stayed in contact, but I felt for many years that this was from obligation rather than desire to do so. I am now a father myself. Although I cannot predict the future, I made a silent vow to myself the day my baby girl was born that I will be the most consistently loving and caring father that I can possibly be.

I think that's a great answer. :) Sounds like you're trying your best to be a wonderful dad. Good for you!

Its difficult to tell. Because we dont know about two different generations that much better. So things will be different in different times. Few things were OK during that period and they are not acceptable now etc
