Jute ,Is it environmetal hazard ?

I know that jute is a very big cash crop in Bangladesh. It is an easily renewable resource and provides many products. The industry is faced with waste water contaminated by the dyes and bleaching of jute, but are implementing a one vat solution to the problem thus lessening water contamination. I don't really know much else about it except there always seems to be a history of controversy over payments to farmers, packaging, exporting and production. Too bad since it is such a versatile product.
