Everytime i finish a post i always think of a good tag for it, then sometimes i am compelled to press the 'skip" button ... does tagging have a bearing on the amount one earns? can i skip it altogether?

I guess you earn a bit more if you tag the discussion... But I don't know for sure.. Anyone knows?

I put tags on discussions I start because I think it will help people to find it if they are searching. However if I'm answering I always skip as it is time consuming and I am trying to answer a lot of posts not waste time putting tags on

yeah, sometimes i stop and think of an appropriate tag, and that takes up my time. But like you when i start a post i usually tag them.

I don't think you earn anymore money for tagging a discussion. I think the purpose is simply to make it available to more people, make it easier for them to find if they are doing a search. If it is a discussion I have started, normally I will try to tag them, but if I am responding to someone elses discussion, I never tag them. I just hit skip, then I rate the discussion and move on to the next one.

Well, it helps the myLot community in keeping related discussions together, although I think it doesn't affect your earnings. Make it a habit to tag you responses, it helps myLot a lot.. =D

I don't think tagging helps in earning more money in a direct way. But I think tagging helps some one who is searching for a topic. If you tag he will find it easy to locate your post and he will respond, there by increasing your earnings in a indirect manner
