Please tell me why online games are so addictive?

i dont have any kids but i do love online games just something bout them that is very addicting

I guess unpredictability of the game. Human vs Computer is lame/boring at some point. Human vs Human is the way.

The internet is addictive, so games on that media more so, basically coz the net gives a person this whole new horizon to explore which is not possible in real life.
