When I was a child I had a cat that liked water.

When we went to the lake camping, our cat was the first one out of the car and into the water. She was a sleek, grey cat. I'd like to another one, but I don't know what they're called. If any of you know the breed of the cat I have described please tell me. Thank you.

Seems my dog and your cat switched instincts, my dog was terified of water. :) Considering there are many cat fans on here Hershe you should find an answer. Good luck on finding the breed!

I have one right now. That loves water too. He is a little Heinzist. We are not sure exactly what all breeds are in our cat family since they are all adopted ferals that wandered in and were born here so we get everything except for solid color brown cats for some reason.... Anyhow... This is a cute little Tiger like a Tabby kitten... but has little toughs on his ears like bobcat... The Little man, would first drink out of the cats water dish then wander up front, and We watched it first stink its head in the water neck up to the water line and pure and cuddle to the water, and then stick his paws in and swim around the Dog dish bowl when he was learning to walk. We kept taking him out he kept swiming in their water dish then when he was done insisted on sitting in the center of the dogfood dish. This drove my English shepards batty. He would sit there and they would bark and bark and yelp at him and paw near the dish trying to tell him to get out of their dish. Now had that been Molly was still alive she would have put his mouth over his head and gently picked him up out the dish, as Zeus another kitten used to sit in the middle of the dish on them as well :) ... he was afraid of rain and thunder storms ironically though :) ... and anyhow. Sure is interested to watch this tiny 3 inch tall kitten swiming in circles around a dogs water dish.. I was like what the heck is the kitten trying to feed itself to the dogs? lol.... until we realised he loves water. Well, I walked outside all the other cats are pretty dry and clean. Not this little thing its been swimming around in mud puddles.... having a bawl, then the other cats stand around and lick him off they don't want him sick... He is interesting I nicknamed him Chaca for now... He stopped swimming in the dog dish, and we caught him sleeping in the middle of his latest crime scene. http://www.care2.com/c2c/photos/view/176/826826387/DNatureofDTrain__039_s_Pictures/chaca121306.jpg.html http://www.care2.com/c2c/photos/view/176/826826387/DNatureofDTrain__039_s_Pictures/chacagarbage121306.jpg.html And Then when I am outdoors this is what the scene looks like most of the time. http://www.care2.com/c2c/photos/view/176/826826387/DNatureofDTrain__039_s_Pictures/chacaclimb121306.jpg.html Hopefully those links works they are links to pictures of the kitten. - DNatureofDTrain
