I had a seller not send an item tht I ordered back in December and so I just now got the money back into my paypal account. While I was working witht he comoplaint, I found that this seller had opened a new ebay site under a new name. This leaves them able to repeat the same offenses all over again and I don't think they should be able to. Now I admit I have no clue how their circumstance might have changed, but they never responded to my e-mails and had dome the same thing to some other buyers. I am thinking about starting a blog just for ebay information/complaints so that people can stop by and either leave their own information or read the information posted there. If a place like this existed, would you use it? It would be outside of ebay andpaypal so people could really let fly with whatever they want to say. What do you think?

I think its a great idea i would certainly use such a site. Im buying and selling on e.bay all the time and thankfully have never had this kind of thing happen but i think it would be great to have a site to name and shame

Make sure to contact live help with eBay and report your findings. There was a site ebayersthatsuck.com about bad eBayers.

I have to check out that site. I have met some ebayers that are bad - buyers that don't pay, and buyers that lie, sellers that send damaged goods... etc. You technically are not allowed to open more than one ebay account for the same name/address/email. So eventually they will get caught for fraudulent behavior. Paypal and ebay DO try to track that stuff, they just dont always catch it right away.

I was just scammed by a buyer who returned an item to me and the item they sent back was not the item I sent them no where near to the item I sent them and ebay and paypal will not help me!! That is why I am not going to sell on ebay ever again there are too many scams. Last year I ordered some maternity clothes and the I sent payment through paypal and waited and waited for my item and i contacted the seller and she said that she does not send items until money orders clear so I replied saying that i did not pay with money order i paid through paypal and then she said she only sends stuff out onece a month?? anyway by time I got the clothes I could not wear them!!

i don't know why but i don't trust ebay... its more enticing and alluring but finally we may have to pay a heavy price in need of saving a few dollars... such cases also exist when i was trying to buy my car and ppl email me saying that they have moved to switzerland , europe etc and want to sell their car.. and i need to send the money via yahoo or some form of transfer and i directly get the car... so i dont even have a feel and look at the car and have to buy it.... though the seller also said that if i dont like it the care can be shipped back to him / her to switzerland / europe etc and i will not be charged for a dime.... crazy ppl and crazy stuff.. just like the emails which say your relative has left you a fortune and i m ur lawyer... haha... i think we should go only for trusted web sites for inline buying...

I buy ans sell all the time. I have only ever not gotten the item I paid for once and couldn't get a refund because it was below the threshhold. I think that the problem with this is that you are opening yourself up to liable. This sort of site is going to be abused by people who are unhappy with what they get whether or not it is what they bid on/ Lets face it some buyers pay heaps more than retail because they get caught up in the frenzy at the end of an auction and then might complain because they regret it. This is why there is a rating system. YOu can also make a discussion on the community site about rip offs. THis is more likely to be read than something outside of ebay.

I agree with this comment. I also buy and sell. I am a seller with 100% positive feedback. I have always received what I bought from others, though a few are slow, check their listing and it will usually say how often they mail items. There are a lot of good sellers out there. The sellers that have a store (with the little red door logo), are more invested in making you happy, because they want return customers. At least you did get your refund. Keep in mind paypal may have taken awhile to process the refund as well. I know when I print postage from the US post office, if I have to cancel it for some reason, they take 15 days to refund me my money! Always check the seller's feedback first. Also, you can ask questions about refund policy prior to bidding or buying. Unfortunately, some people will neg you back if they don't like the feedback you give them. Stick to the facts and don't let personalities get involved. Just report these people to ebay. Plus, just as this person has said, you can join some of the forums or discussion boards on ebay to help change things. It is true that some people suffer 'buyer's remorse' and find they can't really afford the item. I have had at least 5 instances where someone has committed to buy an item and never paid me. A case of , 'the check is in the mail'. You have to consider all the facts, with life being so busy I would not use your site, but I wish you luck with it. :o)

I guess we all have our bad experiences with ebay at 1 point or the other. It happens cuase the people who buy and sell on ebay, find a way to make a quick buck and swindle many people like this. Fortunately for me, when a seller did not send me an item that I paid for, i opened a case and was refunded the money. It took over 3 months but i finally got it. So ebay is not all that bad and works for people who sell or buy to other genuine people

I remember your earlier discussion about this item and I am very happy to hear that you got your money back. I am sure that they did not include any interest though. I think that a blog would be good for people to refer to and to document their own bad experiences. I do sell on ebay and try very hard to make every customer happy. I have only had one return and that was because the item got broken durring shipping. Some things can not be helped but there are so many out there that are dishonest. I would also contact ebay and inform them of what you found out about this person so that maybe they can take care of it before someone else has to go through what you did.

There are a lot of scammers on ebay. You have to be really careful. It's easy for them to change names and appear to be legit. I've seen web sites dedicated to bringing down individual scammers and blog posts. Always try googling the seller's name before you do business with them to see if they've had any complaints. Also check out this site http://www.toolhaus.org/cgi-bin/negs/ if you enter their ebay ID it will show you only negative / neutral feedback. It's really helpful for sellers with thousands of transactions whose negative feedback can get buried.

Yes, you are right, you certainly can proceed to start a blog about the misuse of e-bay services by the people. If this was brought into direct contact with the e-bay officials, they`d certainly start to warn people about such things, and also try to improve their security systems. Well, actually anything with money at it`s centre, would turn into a piece of evil... Money makes people do anything and everything. I don`t know really when this is all going to end. I myself once had a similar experience. An anonymous person was constantly troubling me by asking be to return the money of something that he seems to have purchased from "My Shop". Well, i never even visited e-bay, since the day i created an account there. But, just because i have given my Yahoo ID accidentally, things like these happen. I could not stop laughing when i read the letter from that scammer...lol. I have nothing to gain or lose. Yet that guy was insisting me to return some stuff, that i haven`t even heard before.... what more to say..?? e-bay sucks?

I don't think it's right that the person is now having the opportunity to do wrong to others on ebay. I think a blog to warn others about this type of situation is a good idea but perhaps others who try to make someone sound good. They would say untrue things about a seller just to make that person look like an angel when they really could be ripping off others. It really depends, would others be truthful on the blog, about themselves, the experiences or could it possible be another place for cheating others.

hey, that's too bad. i know there are forums there were you can notify everyone there and that leaves the seller a negative mark.

That would be a fantastic idea, I have had a few run ins with ebay because of bad buyers. Ebay made me feel as though it was my fault because some buyers were putting in false bids. Ebay needs to start caring about its good members and make it more strict on how to open an account. Go for it.

I have recently bought a item off of ebay on Jan 27th and have not received it as of yet I have contacted the buyer and they were somewhat rude. I paid promptly same day I won the item I contacted seller today Feb 8th just to be told that it might be 4 more days before I receive it. I don't know if it is just a way to put me off or what. And if I leave a negative or neutral feedback then they will leave it for me also even though I paid promptly I think sellers should be made to leave feedback as soon as they recive their payments. So I think this blog thing would be a great thing to start up. So others can be aware and beware

I am sorry about your ebay experience. I myself as an ebay seller do leave feedback as soon as the item is paid for. But, I think the reason many wait until you leave feedback is to decrease any scams on the buyers end. I had one buyer email me that the item I sent him was not as described and was just terrible. I wrote back and told him, I haven't even mailed it yet, I thought he had emailed the wrong seller or something. Later, this same person emailed me that he never got his item and I should contact him forthwith! When I responded that according to the tracking number it had been delivered weeks ago. His response was, Oh yeah, I got it but the condition is terrible. So, I told him send it back and I will give him a refund. He refused and called me a pig and a dog (looks like I have a farm)LOL. This person was obviously trying to get a refund and keep his item. So many sellers are afraid of negative feedback that I think his ploy probably works with many sellers. He sits there and collects lots of money from these sellers. I reported him to ebay and blocked him from buying on my site.

I had bought something from eBay before and the seller didn't send it. I tried to get a refund but they claimed that they had a signed receipt that it had been delivered. Funny because it is only my boyfriend and myself in the house so no onehere signed for it. I filed a complaint and everything then I noticed that the seller routinely leaves people nasty, and I mean nasty feedback if they leave a feedback saying that their item wasn't sent. What sort of business people are they? I feared they would slander me on my feedback (Even though I paid IMMEDIATELY) in retalliation to any negative feedback so I just let it go and make sure I never bid from them again. They got money from me for nothing, and a lot of it too. I think that eBay should make some sort of thing to stop people from leaving retalliatory feedback. It is on their terms of service, but that doesn't stop anything. I think that if someone has a bad transaction the rule should be that they do not leave bad feedback at first. They should lodge a complaint and eBAY should STOP the other from leaving ANY feedback if it is proven that they were wrong. So that you don't have to fear lies going on your feedback.

It'd definitely be something I'd look at, especially before buying something. It's very frustrating to always have this element of risk when buying. I look forward to getting packages (although we haven't bought anything from ebay in a couple of years) and while we haven't had any problems, I don't like the fact that it's always a possibility.

Well it sounds good, but I think some people might abuse it because they are mad at someone else. Maybe you could make it to where if you get three or more complaints about that person you could post their name and such. Thanks for rthe suggestion it is a good one. Also you would have to be careful because you dont want a law suit against you because your wrongfully accused someone.

Your blog site sounds good, but you must also report to ebay. We can only complain if we report things and they aren't handled.
