What to get a 9 year old nephew?

I had girls, so Barbie dolls were the order of the day. What do I get a nephew who will be nine? I prefer educational toys.

I think a toy laptop that has educational games such as spelling and math games in order to develop her mental abilities, or perhaps a musical instument

Check out the Leap Frog website. They have great educational toys for children of all ages at a reasonable price. I'm sure you'll be able to find something there. http://www.leapfrog.com

You might want to try and look around for science kits. Safe experiments that he can do. Magnets, gears, LEGO blocks are always a hit with my boys. If you go to Toy's R Us, you will find a science corner. They even have a model that is transparent and you can see the veins as well as the internal organs, which by the way can be taken out and placed back in. It also comes with a 3D book. Hope this helps.
