Which topics/categories seem to pay out more in epinions?

I've been writing for epinions (though not that regularly) and I've noticed a huge difference in payouts per category. Bath and Beauty barely pays anything, but I made the most when I wrote a review for a video game. Even stranger is that the amount of visits to the review don't seem to matter that much. What categories have you been able to make the most money in? Do you think it is still worth it to write in sections that you know will only get you one or two cents for oyur review?

Site wide, electronics, automotive and home improvement items seem to make the most money but that isn't always the case. A microwave review I have has earned over $50.00 so far but thee are electronic items like a Go Video Double Deck VCR that has over 2,000 hits and .53 cents in Income Share. With almost three thousand reviews, I'm not all that picky about what I write about these days. I've reviewed everything from music to blank floppy discs, paper clips to Windex. I honestly don't think that you can look at a product in the database and know that it is going to be a good earner unless it is something new and hot. Cars, SUV's, trucks and movies are usually the ones that get the most hits when it is something new but hits don't always equal money.

It really depends on what particular products are "hot" in certain categories. Most of my few Electronics reviews make very little, but my review of my Samsung portable DVD player has made $75.00 since I posted it in December of 2005, and one movie list (My Best 10 War Movies) is not only my best-paying Movies review at over $40 in income share but is my most popular review, period. I sometimes think I don't get enough IS for a few reviews I've sweated over, but otherwise, I still think it's nice to get even a few cents' worth for my writing. I just keep on writing and writing. In the long run, it all adds up.

I would suggest that you note the season and time of year when posting a review. For example in the winter reviews on heaters and first of the year on health club chains and exercise equipment. In spring and early summer on air conditioners and lawn mowers. In early fall on electronic equipment to get ready for holiday shoppers.

I think sometimes it's best to write in several different categories and see how your reviews do. I have seen some months where one category will do better than another, but in another month it might not be the same. As a general rule, the electronics and games sections do make better money though than some of the other sections such as bath and beauty.
