I usually will close my eyes when I pray at home and no one to disturb me. However, when I am praying while walking along or crossing the road, or where there are lots of people, then I don;t. That's usually when I am shooting SOS to heaven and needing God's help urgently or am bothered with something at that moment.

Yes, I close my eyes when I pray to avoid distractions and to be able to concentrate in my prayer. Praying is the way people speak to God and I don't like any disturbances when I am speaking to God so I close my eyes and give all my attention to God.
God speaks to people thru the Holy Bible so that it is necessary for people to read the Holy Bible to know what God wants to tell us. The Holy Bible is the Word of God and it is the truth.

We usually teach kids to close their eyes when they pray to avoid distractions from the environment, but there is really no Biblical basis for this since my impression is that Jesus, Peter, Stephen, and others prayed looking up to heaven, but neither is it appropriate to quote, watch and pray (Matt. 26:41), as the basis of open-eyed prayer. But since the proper organ for prayer is not the body but the spirit, the most important is Paul's prayer that the eyes of our heart be enlightened (Eph. 1:18). I know I pray with eyes wide open when I am driving and I pray while reading the Bible but also pray with eyes closed as I lay on my bed to sleep. Let's not us further, one eye or two eyes? :)
