Filipinos love to eat street food. Easy to find, and affordable. But do we really know how the vendors done it and prepare it? Is it safe? I have had a bad experience about it. One time i bought a fish balls and when they pour in the sauce , i saw the dead flies swimming on the sauce. Well, maybe not all are dirty, but how would you know which is safe and which is not?

I eat street foods also but not everyday. It's not safe to eat street foods since you didn't know if their materials used is safe or clean. There are street vendors who didn't care about their selling just like flying flies....they didn't even know that there's already flies dipped on the sauce. So, it's not safe to eat in street foods. Better to cook them by yourself by buying packs of uncooked squid balls, fish balls, kikiam, etc. in the market.

I heard that. My sister and I went to the P.I. for 10 days 2yrs ago to watch my Fil-Am nephew's PBA basketball championship game. I couldn't get myself to get anything that the sreet vendor was selling. I wanted taho so bad, but each time I see the vendor's hands (dirty) I was already getting sick. We even went to Baguio and there was a taho vendor. He looked pretty clean and I was going to get the taho, but I still couldn't. I'm pretty sure the food taste good. Authentic Filipino food. But over all, I had fun.

filipinos eat street food because that is how life has been with them. Street food are cheap and very tasty too. Most filipinos eat street food in groups. it's like a bonding for them. Yes i believe we cannot assure that these street food are clean and safe because we do not always see how they are made. but the same idea is true in restaurants, expensive restaurants included. We do not monitor how they cook our food before they actually place it on our tables. If you have the feeling that the food is not safe then don't risk your health eating it, otherwise, go dive and eat to your stomach's delight.by the way, am a filipina and am proud to eat street food. :)

Filipinos love street food but they are also meticulous on how it is prepared because of the awareness campaign brought about by the media. However Pinoys have this mentality that the dirtier it gets the better it tastes...(yuck! bwehehehehe) But due to economic reasons, for a mere P10 you can have a hearty snack by the sidewalk...with all the pollution and all...but that's what make it Pinoy@ ;-)
