I've just recently re-read Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code and found it quite disturbing actually. I know he still has another bestseller book, the Angels and Demons. I'm just wondering if anyone of you has read it already and if you think it is any good. What topic does it tackle? Will it shake my faith as the Da Vinci Code did?

oh ye, of little faith. how the hell is a crappy FICTIONAL novel going to shake your faith? you must have had very little to begin with. i haven't read angels and demons and i probably won't unless someone gives it to me for free and i have nothing else to read.

Very typical of those who are overly religious. You can put something down but you won't bother to read it....

No, A&D is 1000 times better than da vinci code. DVC mainly rode on all the hype, but quite frankly i didn't find it that gr8. But A&D kept we awake for 2 nights cos there's so much suspense, u shud read it. It deals with science v/s religion. I've heard, however, that Digital Fortress is Dan's best bk, or at least 1 of them...Hope that helps

thank you. i was racking my brains trying to remember that 1. digital fortress. i didn't like it actually. the reason was this, on the last few pages of the book, gathered in a room are the most brilliant minds of the country, a physicist, a cryptologist(?), etc etc and nobody can answer the question of what is the difference between this and that. and for some reason, after i've read the question, i already know the answer. it frustrated me. also it was very predictable for me. Angels and demons is the BEST. just my opinion. but digital fortress is way better than deception point.

As others have said, The Da Vinci Code is fictional and should not shake anyones faith. I read Angels and Demons and basically it was a similar story to the Da Vinci Code with different settings and different 'baddies'. Both books were enjoyable to read as works of fiction but too many people have become embroiled in the 'deep, dark meanings', which are not there.

Angels and Demons again ran along the Illuminati lines. Just as entertaining as Da Vinci's code, but seriously, this isn't even serious fiction. This isn't literature. This is Saturday afternoon reading matter. I cannot believe that well researched but biased fiction became such sensitive reading matter that people went in uproar about it. Dan Brown's base formula (and he has been very succesful with it) is to pick an already controversial subject, research it well, and then write a very readable pulp novel. I tip my hat to him as a businessman, but he simply is not a Shakespeare, Hemingway or Steinbeck.

I haven't read the book but I heard a lot of comments from my friends who have read it. They said the book is very intriguing and it'll surely post questions on your head. I'm gonna read it if I have the time.

I could not get through angels and demons. I wanted to and I really tried, but just couldn't get into it. so I never read the DCode either - the movie was okay. Not spectacular, just okay. If DCode shook your faith you might want to stay clear then, I don't know. I really never understood what the hoopla was about the DCode was - it was fiction.

I have to admit I am a huge Dan Brown fan. If you get a chance you should check out the limited edition illustrated versions fo these books. They have pictures of many of the symbols and things he talks about. If you investigate farther into non-fiction, you will realize that all the theories and things dan brown talks about in his books are REAL. As in the theories already existed before he wrote about them. Whether or not you believe them is your choice. Angels and Demons is more sensational and less factual that the DaVinci Code. I enjoyed both of them a lot.

i like angels and demons better than da vinci code. basically dan brown released 4 books already. angels and demons - i consider this the best da vinci code - a very controversial book deception point - very disappointing and i forgot the last one which means it was THAT disappointing i could not even remember it. If you liked da vinci code, i recommend you read angels and demons. it's much, much more disturbing. and if you have a shaky faith to start with, then it will definitely shakre your faith. just remember this is fiction.

I've read Angels and Demons and I actually like it. It's also about arts, science and religion but it is not as controversial as the Da Vinci Code.
