MP4.. Help

yesterday, my dad bought a MP4 Karaoke DVD.
But our dvd player dsnt support yet MP4 types.
What should i do with it, any software you know that supports mp4 that i can download free online?
And if i want to burn this to blank dvd's how can i convert DVD mp4 to a file that supports my player...
pls advise.
