What's the one kitchen gadget you would LOVE to have?

Kitchenaid Mixer - expensive gadget indeed!

Let's say it's your birthday and I'm going to give you ANY kitchen gadget you want. What would you pick? Many would love a dehydrator, I know I loved mine when I had it. Others would pick something like a big mixer, Kitchenaid style, that costs hundreds of dollars and can mix just about anything... not to mention the add ons! What gadget would you like to get?

My husband loves homemade bread but I am too lazy to make it. As it was his birthday last week, I told him I would buy a breadmaker and I would make him all the bread he needs. Well, I got the breadmaker on Saturday and I have made beautiful bread with absolutely no effort on my part. I just have to throw in all the ingredients and it will mix and bake the bread. So he gets homemade bread for his birthday and I got my breadmixer.

You know, I used to use my bread machine all the time but when I moved, even though it's on my counter... I've yet to use it! I should really get out the stuff and start making it! I am a bread FREAK and so are my kids. I especially love specialty breads... loaded with all the bad for us stuff! lol

I used to love buying those little ready made bread packets that you just dump in and bake in the machine. They always come in great flavors and different styles! I'm definitely going to be getting the stuff I need for mine! LOL

I was going to post about a breadmaker too. I bought one, years ago, right before my ex and I split up. Well, by the time I got to packing my half of the stuff in the house, I realized that he had lost the bread blade from the bottom of the machine. He "thought" he had left it stuck in the bottom of the crust of bread that he tossed in the trash! I tried to get one from the company, once I had moved and finally gotten settled again. They couldn't provide me with a new blade... they had discontinued the model. I've always wanted a new machine but it just hasn't been at the top of the priority list. I hope to get one, though, because I used to make almost all our bread with it. I had lots of different, easy recipes where, as you've said, you just toss everything in and it mixes, kneads, rises.. the whole bit. Yep, now I really want one again! LOL

I am ACHING to get a REALLY good rice cooker, like a good Tiger or Zojirushi one. They're anything from $80-$200 (depends on the model and features you want), and I'm just going to splurge soon as I really NEED a rice cooker (I can't live without rice!). I would also adore getting a Kitchenaid Mixer, but it's not really a necessity for me right now. A crockpot is also on my list, but...again...not a necessity yet.

I used to have a black and decker rice cooker that I LOVED. Um... trend here... but the ex took that too! LOL You'd think he was a freaking gourmet chef eh? Can't boil water! But has all kinds of gadgets now that I'm certain he is clueless what even half of them are!!!!

Oster makes a really nice rice cooker too. I got mine at Target a couple of years ago for under $30 and it can make enough to feed an army. D: I won't have one that makes less than 10 cups of cooked rice since all of them will leave a certain amount of crust in the pot. Too much crust means that much less that's edible.

For us, it was the Kitchen Aid Mixer, and we finally got it! It was a gift from my brother in law and his gf for our 1 year wedding anniversary! It's so neat, it works wonders!

I would love to have a big electric meat grinder ...that would really speed up the process for when we get a deer ortwo to grind up ...we use the groundup venison in everything....best chili you have ever had ..so that is what I really would like so you can send it to this address ...lol

A meat grinder is a definite plus if you have a hunter in the family! My dad used to make ground venison for our chili and such and actually ended up usually making 90% of it into sausage.

You don't necessarily need a meat grinder, a good food processor will work just as good. I used to have one of those Ultimate Choppers and it's just a fancy food processor. I ground up several packs of cheaper cuts of beef and stew meat and made some great burgers with it.

Would you really give it to me? lol, just kidding. I would like to have a roaster oven.

Sure... I'm rich now that I'm on MyLot! LOL My mom has a roaster... never uses it! Isn't that funny? Sometimes you think you HAVE to have something and end up never even really using it anyways. The funny part was, she never wanted a microwave and now would die without one. She swore she NEEDED the roaster and has used it twice at the most! lol

Definitely a Kitchen Aid mixer. I just don't have anywhere to store it!

I understand that dilemma! I would love one too but between lack of cupboards and counter space... not so sure it would be a good option for me! Although I'd FIND a way I'm sure! lol

I would love a dish washer, an automatic one that is, not a manual one which seems to be me in this household! I'm always left to do it otherwise it would be hanging around. Oh just to load it all into a dishwasher and that's it! It would save so much time as well as arguements about who should do the washing up and when! My birthday is in May, do I really have to wait that long LOL

I would go with the big huge margharita maker, like restaurant style. I have seen them in the big department stores. Then when I come home from work - Just pull the handle. Yum.

I would love to have a coffee grinder. I know they're cheap and easy to get, but I just never have the time to get one. And each time I see someone's, it makes me want it even more. It's not even about the coffee lol. Weird huh. I actually like it because I can grind any type of spices want, and make a mix of spices on my own.

I have a whole slew of little items that aren't costly, just never take the time and money to get them so I fully understand. Things as simple as a blender! LOL Oh well... that's why I'm always easy to buy for I guess!!!

I'm not sure they make them, but they make everything else. I'd like a DVD player with a fold down screen that fits under the cabinets. I'm always listening to the television while I cook. . your friend

I do think they have them, basically a portable DVD with an under the cabinet hook up I think. Hey... go even bigger... get the fridge that has the tv and dvd player in it!!! After all.. I'm buying! LOL

I would like to have an osterizer, just like you said so I can mix anything from vegetable to fruits. During summer I can use it to sell ice cold drinks made from fresh fruits.

Boy, the big mixer with all the doo dads to attach would be tempting, but I think I'd go for something simpler. The little hand held beverage mixers that you hold right down in your glass would be the one I'd pick. LOL Unless, of course, you count a dishwasher as a gadget. hehehe

I think I would like a part to fix my food processor. I got one from my parents for a wedding gift and some how managed to lose part of it so I cant use it. It is very frustrating. A big mixer or dehydrator would be cool too!

I would really love to have a pasta maker. I love pasta, and I think it would be so nice to be able to make it at home from scratch. Yummy! What I'd really like is one of those Kitchenaid mixers with all the different attachments, but I have a small cheaper stand mixer, so that actually works really well for the stuff I do. I think a pasta maker would be really fun to have though.

I would love either a fancy kitchen aid mixer or a nice food processor. I just love seeing them used on the foodnetwork and it makes me want one. I just don't know if I would use them all the time.

An espresso/coffee maker that's like the type they actually use at starbuck's. They sell them, but they are so expensive....but as much money as I spend there a year...it would be well worth it!

I would love a pressure canner. They are very hard to buy outside of America and Canada but I think one would help me so much.

I want a waffle maker. I had one years ago and it was so much fun to make waffles with the kids, and fresh waffles are so much better than frozen ones.
