My bf of four years allowed me to stay here in new york with the hopes of him following after a couple of months. I am in my first year already and still clueless if he'll follow or not. anyways, he said he had plans of us getting married IF I GO HOME. i got confused. i am establishing life for US here in america and all of a sudden he'll pressure me to take that leap of faith? my bestfriend is planning to get married anytime soon. my college classmate im(ed) me inviting me to her wedding on march, my ex-bestfriend got married in nove of 2006. i just checked my ex bf myspace and he's also freaking married. should i go home and be married too? but i got too much plans prepared for us here in newyork.

Hi there. I think that if you feel you're not really ready to get married because of certain things you need to do first, you shouldn't. Don't let circumstances or people pressure you. You'll do it when you're good and ready. Just keep doing what you're doing. When the time comes that you're ready for marriage, you'll know. There won't even be any doubt. Good luck!

I know I hate this. I don't want to think of myself as bitter or angry about it, but it really does annoy me that everyone around me seems to be getting engaged or married. It doesn't help that I'm in college and around this sort of thing all the time. I'm constantly seeing shiny rings on fingers and hearing people talk about getting engaged and it's annoying and frustrating.
