Is 21st December , 2012 the end of the world?

Various scientists and astrologers have predicted that 21st december ,2012 is going to be the end of the world. This day is the end of the Mayan long count system. The effects of this have already begun in 2006 with the Indonesian tsunami. The ill effects are said to magnify from 2007 which is evident from various climatic changes accross the globe. So do you think it is going to be the end of time? Is 5 years all we have to live?

Hell No!!! No matter what happens the scientist will never be right no offense but they said computers would die at the start of 2000... well what are we using now??? They also said the world would end in 1999 if i remember rightly??? they don't really know they are just trying to get people to change their ways by scaring them by saying we only have 5 years of world life left because of cars etc emiting fumes.... Sorry if i offend anyone with my opinions but that is what i believe, you cant never predict when the world is going to end

Scientists have actually gotten a lot accomplished. I don't see how that's relevant to the topic though, considering we're talking about a Mayan prediction. The ancient civilization.. ;)

Oh, I just reread the topic. Pardon me, the lack of sleep hasn't gotten to the reading part of my brain.

These ill effects we are seeing are manmade. They have nothing to do with the mayan long count. If they can predict the end of the world (Which is yet to happen) so accurately, then why cant they calculate the exact begining date of the world?? Also, What do they mean with end of the world?? is it the end of human race? or our planet is going to vanish into thin air?? These same people have predicted the end so many times, that it wont be long before these guys wil become bu*t of jokes. The effects you are talking about are routine. I have heard about such eevents that have happened hundreds or thousands of years ago. Dont get scared, life life to the fullest. It doesnt have to be 2012 for the world to end for a person who is going to die tommorow. So enjoy yourself buddy. Happy living :)

There is a good chance it is not possible , but what if something like this just may happen? Imagine , what if these are the last 5 years of time?

Interesting, I didn't know there was another doomsday prediction out there. We lived through the others and I imagine we can live through this one too. A lot of folks will be playing lottery numbers with 1's and 2's in them on that day. (That's my prediction)

I was also unaware of it till today my brother told me about it. I usually don't believe in such predictions but I don't know this seems to be scary and somehow I think this just MAY happen.

Various people all through history have predicted the end of the world countless times and yet I'm here typing away. What does that tell you? No one knows whats going to happen. Don't believe the hype.

A prediction is always only a word before it comes true. But I thinkt it's surely impossible.

How can you say that so convincingly?
