I heard this theory about sleeping habits- I wonder if it is true?

My friend told me that what time of the day you were born at determines whether you'll be nocturnal or a day-lover. I wonder if this is true? I was born at midnight, and am definitely a night owl. She was born at 9:00 AM and she goes to bed early. Is this the case for other people? Or is it just a coincidence that my friend and I fit her theory?

Well, I was born at 5,00am in the morning, and I am very much an early bird! And I have heard that theory too, so I think it may well be true. I am incapable of staying up past midnight, but I domy best thinking and working between about 7.00am and 11.00am!!

It is a coincidence but I could see where it would be easy to believe that theory. I always told my mother she should have known I wouldn't be an early riser since I was born at one in the afternoon. I've always been a night owl. I hate getting up in the mornings and would much rather be up all night and sleep all day. However I've known many who are just the opposite and they were born at all hours. It's just a fluke that you and your friend worked out to fit the theory.

Yes indeed. She actually forms many theories that she fits to all humans, but actually end up fitting only us two :).

I think that is coincidence. My son was born in the evening and is a night owl, I was born mid-day and am a night owl as well. I believe that it has more to do with genetics than anything else.

I've never heard of that. I think I was born around 2 am and I'm totally a day person rather then a night person. I like to get my beauty sleep. I hate staying up real late cuz it makes me feel blah during the day.

Yes, from the evidence it would seem that it was just a coincidence. Oh well- seemed like an interesting hypothesis to test out.

It's a coincidence. I was born at 10:45 in the morning and I am a night owl, I hate the mornings. I don't believe the time you're born has anything to do with whether you like to be up all night or go to bed early. It was a good thought, though, since you and your friend fit nicely into that theory.

i was born at 7am...and as long as i can remember i have hated mornings...i am the classic nightowl...so i guess that blows the theory...sleeping habits are just that...habits...and they can be changed... i did have a doctor tell me that studies show that people who work graveyard shifts don't live as long...apparently we need to get our sleep between 10 at night and 7 in the morning...or we just don't rejuvinate as well...food for thought

My Grandma is 90 and has been going to sleep late for as long as I can remember. One of my first times staying up late was with her- we were doing a puzzle until 4:00 AM when I was 10 years old! I think I take after her, so hopefully I just don't need to sleep at night as much as other people do.

Well I fit your theory I was born at 11:33pm and as long as I can remember I love to stay up very late and have always hated mornings, except for Christmas morning, lol other than that mornings for me are no good. I will be checking around with friends to see if it works. Good luck to you here at mylot!

I think it is probably just a coincidence but I was born at 8pm and I am definitly a night person. I am really worthless in the mornings. I don't know if the time of day really has anything to do with it though.

I was born at 6.30am and the only time you'll see me up at that time is when ive been up partying all night. Lol. I am definately not a morning person and much prefer the midnight hour!

Ah ha- that would explain why there are so many more night people than morning people :).

First time I heard this theory! I was born at one am and I prefer going early to bed and to rise early. But as an astrologer I'll say that your birth chart does say something about how much sleep you need/want. Some high energy people will do with very little sleep, but I often find they go early to bed and early up. StellaP http://www.your-fabulous-life.com
