Single Income

Hi Friends and members of my lot I thought that you might like to discuss this topic of being on a single income at various stages in life, most of us find it necessary to exist on a single income. For students, flatters and those living on their own, it often feels that there is never enough to go round. For new parents accustomed to receiving two wages each month, the transition to a single wage can feel rather daunting. Even retirement can bring concerns - will I have enough? Whatever your situation, think of it as a challenge, not a backwards step! Many families are able to thrive happily on a single income.

Being a single mother I lived on meager earnings from various types of employment. Now that the kids are grown and on their own I am focusing on what retirement will bring for me and the hubby. Both of us are unemployed and seeking work. If not for unemployment benefits we would broke. Paying bills is a challenge. You rob Peter to pay Paul. Challenge is a good word for it. I am tired of being challenged.

I think if you are used to only having one income you learn to budget around it. If you have 2 then you start to feel you 'need' things which in fact are luxories.

I am going to be on a single income soon. In a few months I will be quitting my job to take care of my new baby. It will be a hard adjustment but I think it's important to be with the baby. I know it will be tough but I know we can get through it.
