What do you think? Quite frankly, I think that Meat Loaf proved with Bat III that he doesn't need Jim holding his hand to put together a fantastic album. A win like this is something the poor guy's been needing. Yes, Bat III had a few Jim songs, but aside from "It's All Coming Back to Me Now", some of the best songs on the album were not written by him, most noteably "Blind as a Bat". Do you agree? Why or why not?

I was thrilled to see Bat III come out. I'm a huge, huge Meatloaf fan and I couldn't wait to get my hands on his new stuff. I was very curious to see how this album would measure up to his 'classics'. And I am in agreement with you. I've greatly enjoyed this latest release, and I think it's a great album. Definitely well worth having in my collection.

Have you had a chance to see the music video for "It's All Coming Back to Me Now"? If you liked "Wuthering Heights", I would highly recommend it. I can link to it on my eljay if you want.

I haven't seen it yet, sadly. it would be awesome if you could link to it - I've always loved Meat Loafs videos.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=i_XT7zDuuZg - if that doesn't work, just search for it on YouTube. Amazing scene as usual. His official website is meatloaf.net.

I don't like Bat III as much as the first two albums. It's certainly a nice album, but for me at least it lacks the magic of the first two. I don't know why I feel like that. I don't even prefer the Steinman-songs in Bat III - I was even disappointed that they were old ones (It's all coming back to me now is originally sung by Celine Dion, Seize the night is from a Musical Steinman composed).

It's all coming back to me now, originally was sung by Elaine Caswell of Pandora's Box (1989).

I totally agree with you there. With or without Jim Steinman, Meat Loaf is definitely one of those artists who's in a catetory of his own. I frankly wasn't worried about the quality of the album as many fans seemed to be. Just hearing the "Monster's Loose" preview - a sign of what was to come - was enough to get me hooked. As usual, he has unbelievable passion in every song.
